In this year opening season in Eurohold Balkan League there is only one unbeaten team remaining – Swisslion Takovo from Vrsac. Tonight, in front of 1 800 fans serbians held their opponent to only 12 fourth quarter points and that helped them to get very important away victory by the score 75-70 against strong team such is macedonian champion Feni Industries. After this round of play only Swisslion Takovo didn’t lose so far in the league. Victory in Kavadarci gave Lions big opportunity to win Group A of the competition. Four teams in Eurohold Balkan League have one loss and Feni Industries is one of them.

With 6.26 to go in the game Donald Cole scored for 66-62 in favor of Feni Industries. However there was a lot of time left on the clock in beautiful Jasmin Arena in Kavadarci and the champions of FYR of Macedonia managed to score only two baskets, one of them with 3 seconds before the end (2 pointer by Darko Sokolov) which wasn’t quite enough. First visitors used a 10-0 run to get 6 points advantage of their own for 66-72. Milos Marjanovic who ended with team high 18 points scored six of those 10 points for his team in this decisive time of the game. Almost four minutes the home team couldn’t manage to score and that was a moment for team with experienced players like Swisslions to close the game as they wanted to. Good free throw shooting and few bad taking shots from the players of Feni Industries helped them to escape with the win.

Sasa Ocokoljic scored 15 points while Branko Jorovic added 10 for the winners.

Taliek Brown was the best scorer for Feni Industries with 12 points while Gjorgi Cekovski added 10.

Both teams disappointed with 3-point shooting percentage as Lions scored only 4 of 19 shots (21.1 %) while Feni Industries was even worst – 4 of 23 for 17.4 %.

Leven Belberov scored the last basket with 1.7 seconds left in the game between Rilski Sportist and Mega Hypo Leasing but that was enough for a new win by a single point for his team against the same squad, this time in Belgrade.

While national football team of Bulgaria looking bad at the soccer stadium in Belgrade, basketball team of Rilski Sportist recorded first win away in Eurohold Balkan league against Mega Hypo Leasing 85-84. Only month and a half ago a three-pointer at the buzzer by Aleksandar Gruev defeated the same opponent in Samokov in the first ever game of the regional league. Today the "killer" became Leven Belberov and now is certain that Rilski Sportist is finishing the season with two wins against the Serbian outfit.

This win is giving advantage for Rilski Sportist in eventual tie with Mega Hypo Leasing in the final standings of this group. The win in Belgrade is also very big for the Samokov basketball because not very often Bulgarian teams are winning in Serbia. The success is even more sweet for Rilski Sportist because it was reached without two of the main players. Aleksandar Gruev is still recovering from a hand injuri while yesterday during the practise Ivan Lilov strained his ankle and he didn`t enter the game today.

The American center of the team Travis Peterson again showed he is in great form and finished with 25 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. Very good played also the Serbians in the team - Branko Mirkovic finished with 17 points and 6 assists while Dragoslav Papic scored 11. One of his best games so far played Bogdan Boev. He finished the game with three three-pointers for 15 points, 4 assists and 3 steals. Asen Saralyiski scored important baskets in the third quarter when his team turned the game over and went ahead. He finished with 6.

Dusan Katnic was the top scorer for the hosts with 17 points, while Chris Shlatter added 16.

Men’s basketball team of Rilski sportist visit Belgrade for rematch of the opening game from Eurohold Balkan League versus Mega Hypo Leasing. Team from Samokov will try to sweep the series against young Serbian squad. Both teams open up the competition on October 7-th and bulgarinas were lucky to win thanks to amazing 3-pointer shot by Aleksandar Gruev in overtime session. Today’s winner will step at the first place in Group B of Eurohold BIBL and most likely secure place among the best four teams at the end of regular season. As reminder best four teams from each group qualify for the first round of playoffs.

Mega Hypo Leasing have only one loss since the beginning of the league. After they lost the opener in Samokov, players from this Serbian team win three times in row and now are main candidate za first place at the end of regular season. Tow of those important victories came from away games against Levski and Dinamo Bucharest.

Mega Hypo Leasing will try to get back on track after huge loss by 22 points from Vizura Belgrade. Currently they are on 8-th place with negative record of 4 wins and 5 losses. Rilski sportist is currently 5th with 3 wins and 3 losses.

Other two games from today’s schedule are from Group A. Two undefeated teams meet each other to decide which squad will top the group after this round. Game in Kavadarci between Feni Industries and Swisslion Takovo will bring lot of attention huge interest for this match of unbeatable so far teams.

Both, Feni Industries and Swisslion Takovo already picked up the speed in their local championship and are teams to beat in their domestic competitions. Lions are having great record so far. They won all of their 9 games in Serbian league. Two more victories in Eurohold Balkan League mean they are undefeated this season.

From other side the champions of FYR of Macedonia Feni Industries are playing very well and have no big problems to handle one level below them teams in their local competiton.
