KK Kumanovo 2009 recorded its first win of the new season in EUROHOLD Balkan League. The team hosted KK Sutjeska and was victorious by a score of 97-87. This puts Kumanovo at 1-1 record while the squad from Niksic is now 1-2. The game was even for most of the time but when it mattered the hosts played better and eventually won. In their next game Kumanovo will visit Teodo while Sutjeska will rest and will host Teodo on 25th of November.   Kumanovo started very well and led 14-3 after four minutes but couldn′t hold on to its good advantage. Still the hosts were up but Sutjeska was close and the difference at the break was only 6 points after Aleksandar Kostoski scored a triple at the end.    Kumanovo increased the lead to 12 points in the third quarter but 14-2 run for Sutjeska tied the score. Then the visitors managed to take the lead for a while but the hosts bounced back. Still a triple by Ilic tied the score after 30 minutes and all had to be decided in the end. With two minutes played in the fourth quarter the hosts were up by a single point but then they made a run of 10-3 to put them ahead by 8 points. Then the difference went up to 10 points very soon and Kumanovo held on for the victory.   Vukasin Mandic was the top performer for the winners with his 31 points as Aleksandar Kostoski had 16 and 5 assists. For the visitors Nemanja Vranjes finished with 26 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists against his former team while Nikola Pavlicevic added 17 points.
