Vasil Kifev, president of BC Beroe: The team raised its level thanks to the Balkan League

BC Beroe was one of the pleasant surprises of the season in SIGAL-UNIQA Balkan League. In its first season the team from Stara Zagora reached the semifinal losing to the eventual champion KB Sigal Prishtina. Unfortunately for Beroe the team was eliminated in the quarterfinals of Bulgarian league playoffs but nonetheless it was a good season. The president of the club - Vasil Kifev, spoke for the team′s official website and underlined the importance the Balkan League had for his team improved performance:

"We are extremely satisfied with our participation in the Balkan League. Not only due to the fact that we reached the semifinals but mainly because we met team who come from countries with greater basketball culture, organization and possibilities. It′s because of the games in the Balkan League that our team raised its level. We would like to be a part of it for the next season as well."
