BC Beroe will continue its participation in SIGAL-UNIQA Balkan League having applied for season 2016-2017.

Although it was the team’s first ever participation on the international stage, last season BC Beroe performed extremely well and managed to reach the semifinals when was defeated by the current champion KB Sigal Prishtina.

The club supported enormously by the municipality of the city of Stara Zagora, especially by the Mayor Mr. Zhivko Todorov showed basketball character, desire to fight, develop and of course win.

The management of SIGAL UNIQA Balkan League is very happy BC Beroe will be again amongst the participants. The mutually good experience from the past season has much more possibilities to continue to be developed and thus it means the main motto and goal of the competition is still preserved – to provide opportunities to young and potential clubs with good ambitious and hard-working managements like BC Beroe to compete internationally and develop their players.

BC Beroe keeps the head coach Lubomir Minchev who is also at present of the Bulgrian Men’s National Team.

Playing international games boosted the team’s spirit and the players potential and belief in their own skills, helping for the very good performance also in the Bulgarian National League and the Cup Tournament when the team won a historic bronze medal. For the upcoming season Beroe has already confirmed Plamen Aleksiev, Tihomir Zhelev and Nikolay Nikolov. The team is expected to announce more players in the next few weeks in order to fill the roster for the season ahead.
