Great first half leads Beroe to a huge win over Teodo
17-01-2017 | 21:37

BC Beroe played a great first half which eventually was enough for the team to defeat KK Teodo 94-72 at home. With that victory the Stara Zagora team is now 100% through to the Second Stage of SIGAL UNIQA Balkan League. Next week Beroe will host Kumanovo in a direct battle for the first position in the group.

As for Teodo the team now has 4-5 record and will play Bashkimi in seven days time. The winners from that game will qualify further at 100%. Both teams can qualify with a defeat as well but that depends on other results. For Teodo to go through with a defeat Kozuv needs to win only one of its two remaining games. However if Bashkimi is to lose at home then the team will have to hope that Kozuv will lose both matches.

Shortly after the game started Beroe made a 9-3 run to go up 18-12. Then the hosts continued to play better and with 11-1 in the last three minutes of the first period went up by 16. In the second quarter Beroe kept playing well as the offense was clicking. Thanks to it the home side increased the advantage to 26 points at the break as The Greens scored 7 triples from 11 attempts. That was more than enough as in the second half Beroe controlled the difference and had no trouble to finish the game.

Shane Gibson was the top scorer for the win with 17 points while also adding 5 assits. Brandis Raley Ross had 15 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists as Omari Gudul added 14 points.

Radomir Marojevic and Stefan Sajin were the only players in double digits for Teodo as they both had 14 points each.
