Spartak Pleven conceded their 7th loss in EUROHOLD Balkan League, this time at home against Macedonian Feni Industries 85-93 and minimized their chances to qualify for the quarter-finals. Feni Industries, in turn, remained in a battle for the first place in the group being aligned with Levski on the top with 6 wins and 2 losses from 8 games played.
Guests started the game better and led after 3 minutes with 4-11. Iliya Stankov and Veselin Georgiev and replied with two free-throws each and brought down to 8-11, but Vladimir Popovic scored a three for 8-14, 4 minutes before the end of the first quarter. By the end of this initial ten both teams played well in attack as they scored a total of 52 points. Unfortunately, Feni took the lead by 22-30, but the main reason for that was the difference in the percentage of shooting from the area for 3 points - for Spartak it was 0 after failing to score any three-pointer in their nine attempts. Feni were 4/5 behind the line. Strong play for the American center Joe Kennerly III, after the first 10 minutes he made 11 points and 4 rebounds. In the second period Macedonian runner-up continued with their good shooting percentage and deservedly took comfortable lead at the half - 56:34. In the third quarter nothing different was happened and Feni industries still kept their lead, while Spartak did not succeed to remove these significant difference. 7 minutes before the end Bulgarian team trailed by 20 points difference - 65-85, but then followed a strong series of the hosts in the next 2 minutes and after 9 consecutive points the lead was reduced to 74-85. In the remained 5 minutes,  Spartak reduced their trail to 7 points, but finally, the guests took an important win - their sixth in the league this season.
Five Feni`s players managed to finishe with double digit score - Darko Sokolov was the team`s best scorer with 17 points, while Dusan Knezevic played another good game finishing with double-double - 15 points and 11 boards. Vlado Popovic ended with 14. Iliya Stankov was best scorer on the court with 21 points, while Joe Kennerly nailed 19 points and 12 boards, but their efforts weren`t enough for Spartak.
In the last round, Feni Industries is facing OKK Beograd in Kavadarci, while Spartak will have a very difficult visit to Mornar Bar, which is going to be the direct clash for the fourth place in the Group B.
