KK Kozuv finally stopped its run of nine straight defeats after winning the Macedonian derby of EUROHOLD Balkan League. The team from Gevgelija hosted KK Kumanovo 2009 and won the game 104-86. This puts them with 5 victories and 10 defeats before their last game with BC Galil Gilboa next week. For Kumanovo this was the last match and the team finished the regular season with a 6-10 record and losses in their last eight games.
 
It was an even start to the match but shortly before the end of the first quarter Kozuv made an 8-0 run. Vukasin Mandic scored a triple at the buzzer for the visitors to cut the deficit but Kozuv continued to have the lead in the second quarter as well. With a 6-0 run they managed to take a 9-point lead but Kumanovo cut it to 5 points at the break.
 
The match was decided in the third quarter when Kozuv′s offense was very good. The visitors managed to tie the score twice but after the second time Kozuv scored 11 straight points which gave them their first double digit lead. Kumanovo answered with a triple but a 7-0 run for the hosts gave them 15-point advantage. At the end of the quarter the difference was 19 points and in the last ten minutes it was never threathened.
 
The hosts scored 11 three-pointers from 20 attempts while Kumanovo was 5 of 22 and this proved to be the important difference. The visitors also missed 13 of 30 attempted free throws.
 
Miladin Pekovic was the top scorer for the hosts with 20 points as they had six players in double figures. Slaven Cupkovic added 17 points and 10 rebounds while Zlatko Gocevski scored 16 points.
 
For the visitors good game had Vukasin Mandic with 27 points as Uros Lukovic added 17 and 7 rebounds.
