Levski is going to the Final 4 of EUROHOLD Balkan League for fifth straight season after defeating Kumanovo 2009 very difficult at home to win overall the quarterfinal series. Here are the words of the head coach Konstantin Papazov after this match:

“Nothing surprising for me. I expected a difficult match especially after we understood that Lukovil will not play. Kumanovo showed a totally different game and had nothing to lose. 30 three-point attempts show that when you play with no pressure it’s very easy to take the risk. However this doesn’t justify some our stupid actions for long periods.

For sure Levski will apply to host the Final 4. I think the logic is to stay in Bulgaria. I’m sure Balkan will win tomorrow and this means that for sixth year in a row there will be a finalist from Bulgaria. This year we have 100th anniversary of Levski so either there will be a award for our club or there will be for Botevgrad with its new gym. 100th years is a big anniversary for every club in the world. This year it’s Levski and the most logical thing is Levski to host the Final 4 if of course we have a good offer.

I’m sure that in the Final 4 we’ll look very good because my players are of a high class. They are motivated and focused very difficult. I’m convinced also in the potential of the Bulgarian players who in this game didn’t perform at their level.

We’ll have 20 games in EUROHOLD Balkan League this season. This is a huge advantage and our team needs to be grateful for that chance. We still have more potential and I know that when the final comes Heath, Chalmers, Jones and Wilkinson will show different face. However I’m not happy with the performance in this game.”
