Peja victorious in Kumanovo after a great last minute

KB Peja won a very important away victory in group A of EUROHOLD Balkan League. The team visited KK Kumanovo 2009 and in the full gym won 93-83 after a superb last minute performance. The game was decided in the final 60 seconds which both teams entered tied. This result makes the group more than interesting as now four teams share the same 3-2 record. On Monday Peja will host Sutjeska while for Kumanovo this was the last game for 2014.

The match was even from start to finish with lead changes and no big runs. After 30 minutes Peja led by 2 points and all had to be decided in the final 10. The teams exchanged baskets in the last quarter and at one point the hosts took a 3-point lead. Peja responded immediatelly and after quick 5-0 went up by 2 with 02.09 to play. Then both teams missed and Kostoski managed to score and tie the game. After that Brkic was fouled and made two free throws which he followed with a block. Then in the final seconds Peja scored another 6 free throws and was stopping Kumanovo′s offense which proved to be enough.

Peja managed to score 11 triples out of 28 attempts while Kumanovo was 6 of 26 which was the big difference as the hosts usually rely a lot on their outside shooting.

Jan Mocnik had a great game for the visitors with 28 points as Drilon Hajrizi had 15 and 6 rebounds.

For the home team Vukasin Mandic had 23 points while Uros Lukovic had 20 and 10 rebounds in his return.
