Teodo defeated Rilski Sportist for first win of the season

KK Teodo recorded its first win of the season in EUROHOLD Balkan League. The team from Tivat hosted BC Rilski Sportist and won 84-81 in dramatic fashion. The visitors from Samokov led for most of the time but couldn′t hold on in the end when the hosts did better. With this result Rilski now has 3-3 record and holds the first place in Group A but with game more than the other teams. Teodo is still last with 1-4 record and kept slim chances of advancing to the next rounds. This was both teams last match in the competition for 2014.

Rilski started better the game and took a 7-2 lead and after that the visitors continued to have the lead. Teodo though stayed close all the time but with 7 straight points in the second the Samokov team went up by 8. However until the break the hosts cut the deficit to just 3 and then they started great the second half and after 14-3 run took 8-point advantage. Rilski however responded quickly and scored 14 straight points to take back the lead. It went up to 9 points but Teodo answered back and before the last ten minutes the difference was only 5 points.

In the middle of the last quarter Teodo managed to take the lead and a few seconds later the score was tied. Then both teams exchanged triples and with 1.39 to go Mijovic put Teodo up after making two free throws as after him Norfleed made just one for Rilski. The hosts then missed twice but also grabbed the offensive rebounds and in the third attempt Mitchell was fouled. He scored two free throws to put Teodo ahead by 3 with 47 seconds to play but immediatelly after that Gugino was fouled as well and scored twice. Then the teams exchanged lay ups and with 24 seconds to go Teodo led by 1. Then Mijovic missed to score but the hosts grabbed the rebound and Subotic was fouled. He made both shots from the line and then the desperate effort of Norfleet was short.

Teodo dominated the boards grabbing 20 offensive rebounds to only 5 by Rilski which resulted to 17-7 advantage in second chance points. The visitors scored 14 triples to 7 by Teodo but it wasn′t enough.

Aleksandar Radulovic finished with 22 points and 9 rebounds for the winners as Danilo Sibalic scored 17 points in his debut.

For Rilski 16 points apiece had Simeon Iliev and Lubomir Kirov.
