EUROHOLD Balkan League is just two games away from the end of season 2014/2015. BC Rilski Sportist and KB Sigal Prishtina reached the final of the competition and will fight for the title. Here is what the Sports Director of EUROHOLD Balkan League - Mr. Shay Shtriks, had to say about the season so far, about the next one and of course about the upcoming final:

"EUROHOLD BIBL Finals will start next week and I would like to wish to the two teams BC Rilski Sportist and KB Sigal Prishtina to have high-level basketball event, strong and quality games which will be supported with very good, correct and fair officiating.

This is the place to send to all the other eight teams and the six federations, part of season 2014/2015, congratulations and big thank you for very good cooperation during the season and we hope to see them also in the next one 2015/2016 with us as well.

I′m very happy to say that the new system in season 2014/15 was the best one until now. Season Nr. 7 of EUROHOLD Balkan League was the most interesting and very challenging one. We faced a lot of interesting games, drama and most importantly quality basketball. Most of the gyms were full and the spectators enjoyed almost every moment of the strong and interesting games. The officiating in most of the games was very good and correct, and no game was decided by referees’ decision. The best teams this season qualified to the Final.

All the Coaches, players and managements gave the maximum during the long season of BIBL. All teams played with big desire to win, both at home and away, and I appreciate the fact that no club came to any game without the full and strong roster.

I would like to send big THANK YOU to all the staff from the Balkan League office. They have been working every day during the year to support and provide to all the clubs the best possible conditions and service so they can concentrate only on basketball.

For a 7th consecutive season our main sponsor EUROHOLD stands behind us and continues to support the league. We could not give those very good conditions as an international league without the support of Mr. Assen Christov and the management of EUROHOLD. It is the longest and strongest cooperation between any basketball organization and their sponsor and for that I am thankful and I do hope to continue with this great collaboration in the years to come as well.
Big thank you also to all the people from Sport Media, the TV channels-partners in the different countries and other media supporting the Balkan League throughout the years and this particular season. 70% of the games of season 2014/15 were broadcast live on the TV and 90% of the games were broadcast in our Internet TV SportMedia. Our target for the next season is 90% of the games to be live on TV and 100% on SportMedia.

I am very happy that FIBA recognized again the Balkan League and our responsibility is to continue with the professional way, cooperation with FIBA, Federations and the clubs, to provide the best conditions to the clubs and the referees and to offer to the basketball fans in our region quality, correct and strong basketball competition.

For the next season we would like to have 12 clubs and 7 Balkan Federations, to stay with the same system and to use the same principle for the calendar, with the cooperation of the national federations. I would also like to see again two teams from Bulgaria. Definitely the idea is to keep those same clubs for next season as well but some of them need to reach the level of the other regarding the conditions provided - gym, hotel, etc. Now comes the time to enjoy the two great final games between BC Rilski Sportist and KB Sigal Prishtina and may the best team win!"
