KK Kumanovo 2009 lost the first final game away at MZT Skopje. The home side and current champions won 94-79 and took 1-0 lead in the series.

MZT started really well and took 18-8 lead early. They led by 11 after ten minutes and by 12 at the break which was more than enough to hold on in the second half when the lead went up to 21.

Aleksandar Kostoski had 20 points for Kumanovo as Uros Lukovic added 15.
