Teodo wins by scoring 1.8 seconds before the buzzer

KK Teodo recorded a dramatic win over KB Bashkimi at the start of group C of SIGAL-UNIQA Balkan League. The team from Tivat won 69-68 away in a very dramatic fashion. Milos Djurisic was the hero for the visitors as he scored the game winning basket 1.8 seconds before the final buzzer. Generally the game was very even as both teams fought hard and it was natural to be decided at the end. In the next round Teodo will host Beroe while Bashkimi will visit Mornar.

 

Both teams were exchanging points early and shortly before the first quarter ended Bashkimi made a 5-0 run to held on for a 5-point lead after ten. The hosts led for the whole second quarter but not by more than 6. Teodo stayed close all the time and after Aaron Mitchell hit a triple at the buzzer the score after 20 minutes was tied.

 

The third quarter continued to be even with Teodo leading but by no more than 2.  The visitors made 5-0 run to broke a tie with 1.40 to go in the period but Bashkimi responded quickly the difference after 30 minutes was only 1 point. 

 

After three minutes of the fourth quarter the score was tied but then the hosts scored 5 in a row to take the lead. Teodo though didn′t give up and with 2.40 to go tied the score after a Subotic triple. Marcel Jones added one free throw to put the hosts us then both teams missed. With 1.17 to go Vucurovic was fouled and he scored only one free throw to tie the score again. With a munutes to play Jones scored again but Vrbica responded with a triple to give the visitors a point advantage. Tay Waller made a basket in the next offense to put Bashkimi up by 1 with 23 seconds to go and Teodo had the ball for a last try. Mitchell missed and the ball went out but it was called for the visitors. Then Vrbica missed and Bashkimi almost grabbed the rebound. One player however lost the ball and it went to Milos Djurisic who scored the game winning basket with 1.8 seconds to go. Then Waller tried a desperate shot but it was too far off.

 

Manuel Johnson had 18 points and 7 rebounds for the win while Aaron Mitchell had 13 and 8.

 

Tay Waller finished with 22 points for the hosts as Granit Rugova scored 14.
