Bulgaria edges Macedonia at the end in a friendly

The Men National teams of Bulgaria and Macedonia played their first friendly game of the summer. Both teams met in Samokov and the hosts won 61-59 after a close match.

Bulgaria led early but in the second quarter the visitors managed to overturn the score and went up. In the third quarter Macedonia made a 7-0 run to break a tie and led almost until the end. With 25 seconds to go however Hristo Zahariev scored the go ahead triple for the home team and the Bulgarians managed to hold on.

Zahariev was the top scorer for the win with 16 points while this year′s BIBL champion Jason Washburn had 12 and 9 rebounds.

Romeo Travis had 14 points and 9 rebounds for the visitors as Vojdan Stojanovski added 11 points.
