Great first half gives Kozuv the win over Bashkimi

KK Kozuv started the new season in SIGAL-UNIQA Balkan League with a convincing victory. At home in Gevgelija the team ousted KB Bashkimi 80-63 after leading from start to finish. A great first half from the hosts allowed them to take a very big advantage which was more than enough for the second part of the match. Next week Kozuv will host BC Beroe while Bashkimi will play at home against Kumanovo.

Kozuv started very good the game and took 12-2 lead in just over five minutes. After that the hosts continued to have the big advantage which never stopped increasing. Soon it reached 20 points and as Kozuv controlled the match, after 20 minutes they were up by 24. A quicki 7-2 start of the second half gave the home team an advantage over 30 points and they had no problems after that. Bashkimi closed the gap in the final minutes but it was too late for something more.

Top scorer for the winners was Nikola Djurasovic who finished with 24 points while also adding 6 rebounds. Robert Abramovic also had a good game with 22 points, 4 rebounds and 4 assists while Kenyon McNeail had 11 points.

Marko Popovic finished with 14 points and 8 rebounds for the visiting team as Kejuan Johnson scored 12 points.
