Domestic leagues: Kumanovo defeats Kozuv in a thriller

KK Kumanovo 2009 recorded a win at the start of the Superleague in Macedonia. In the first game the team hosted KK Kozuv and needed an overtime to take 108-103 victory.

The visitors started great and took an 18-point lead after only ten minutes. Kumanovo however started coming back and after 30 minutes the hosts went up by 2. The fourth period was very even as with 10 seconds to go the visitors went up by 3. However there was still time for Kumanovo and Yonel Brown was fouled shooting a three-pointer. He made all of his free throw attempts and sent the game to overtime. A 6-0 run for the hosts put them up by 7 with one minute to go in the extra period. That was enough for them as they held on and recorded a thrilling win.

Marjan Janeski was the top performer for the winners with 29 points and 7 rebounds. Dimitar Karadzovski also did well with 21 points and 7 assists while Miladin Pekovic had 15 points.

Kenyon McNeail had 31 points and 9 assists for Kozuv while Larry Hall scored 23.
