Fotios Takianos: The players fought really hard

KB Bashkimi recorded a home win against BC Akademik Bultex 99 in Prizren. Both teams played really hard but the hosts had a few good runs which allowed them to control the match and win it. Here is what the head coach Fotios Takianos had to say after the game was over:

"First of all I want to congratulate our opponent. We know they are a very good team which participates in a good domestic league and they also had good performances in BIBL. 

I also want to congratulate our players as this was our first game after a long break during which we had a lot of problems to work. We had players that were injured and they didn′t practice during that time. I didn′t have any signs from them in which shape they were going to be. But we saw that they were ready to play aggressive, especially on defense, and they showed that they want to win the game a lot. They fought for every loose ball, they fought on every defense so it was a big performance for us against a very good team. This win will give us confidence and power to play the next games. It′s obvious that we don′t make the things in the right way for 40 minutes of the game but it′s because we didn′t practice. So we need to keep this aggressiveness and confidence but we need to work hard in order to improve.

We know Rilski Sportist. I think that the last two games will give us a good tempo for a match that will be more difficult. We will be more prepared for it. We can′t do anything else than to treat our opponent as best as we can, keep the aggressiveness and increase the focus of our performance."
