Bashkimi overcomes Tirana in overtime drama

KB Bashkimi recorded a dramatic and in the same time really important home win over SK Tirana. The two teams played a highly entertaining contest and offered plenty of emotions before the hosts won 101-95 in overtime. With that result Bashkimi is now with a 3-5 record while the Albanians are sixth with 2-6.

It was an even first half as both teams were exchanging baskets and noone could take a big lead. That changed after the break as Tirana started great. The visitors went on a 16-3 run which gave them a 10-point edge and they kept it until the end of the third period. In the fourth though Bashkimi didn′t give up and started coming back. Just four minutes in to it they tied the score and the teams again started exchanging baskets. With less than two to go the hosts went up by 5 and in the final second led by 3 but Strowbridge made a triple to tie the game and send it to overtime.

In the extra period the home side managed to make a 9-3 run which gave them an 8-point edge with 1.40 to play and it was enough for the win.

Aaron Moss had a great game for the hosts finishing with 33 points, 11 rebounds and 11 assists. Altin Morina also did very well with 26 points and 6 assists as Mikaile Tmusic added 20 points and 8 rebounds.

The visitors were led by Endrit Hysenagolli who had 26 points and 13 rebounds. Charles Strowbridge had 20 points as Gerti Shima added 19, 9 rebounds and 9 assists.
