Antonios Doukas: The season in BIBL was really helpful for us

SK Tirana finished its season in SIGAL-UNIQA Balkan League after losing twice against BC Levski Lukoil in the playoffs. After the second defeat in Sofia the coach Antinios Doukas had to say the following:

"First of all I want to congratulate my players for how hard they tried this season. Then I want to congratulate Levski for advancing. Of course we understand that sometimes it′s not enough just to want something, you need to be able to do it. If you see both team′s benches, everyone can understand the difference. It′s not just about the players but also the number of the coaching staff. They have a very good project.

It′s important to stay with what we did this season. We made one step forward compared to last one and all praises have to be for the players, for the board because the management support us and the guys are stepping up on the court.

In Sofia we tried to make the same thing that we made in the first game in Tirana but because of the small rotation and the fact that we get tired very fast, when we followed Levski′s tempo we lost the contact with the game and that was it. We tried to comeback with zone defense but we couldn′t.

I′m happy with the season. It was very helpful because it brought a lot of experience to me and to the players. If we want to make progress like a club and also for the Albanian basketball, we must see where we make mistakes and not repeat them."
