KB Bashkimi: This is our golden opportunity
KB Bashkimi is on the verge of playing a historic Final Four in SIGAL-UNIQA Balkan League. With just few days to go to the semifinals the Prizren team is eager to prove itself and also to perform in the highest possible level. Before the F4 we reached out with five questions to all the teams for the President, the head coach and one player. Here are the answers from KB Bashkimi:
Shaqir Totaj, president of KB Bashkimi: "This is our "golden opportunity" to prove once again that p?ssion for sports, having a goal, focus on that goal, never give up pays off in the end. Let me remind you that winner is not the one who never loses but the one who never gives up. Despite the very difficult season financially, we never gave up. This is our opportunity to represent our city and our country in the best possible way. Good results are always important but our primary goal would be fair play, respect the rules and everyone involved, and promote our city and our country. By being part of the BIBL F4 we have achieved pretty much more than we probably expected, but we are not considering ourselves inferior at all.
After this year′s qualification for the BIBL F4 we would be seen from all partners more seriously and it will help us increase the profile of the club and the management team, and hopefully help us to better stand financially for the next season, and why not maybe this year become a Kosovo Champion."
Dragan Radovic, head coach of KB Bashkimi: "For us advancing to the Final Four is already a good result. That allows us to play pressure-free in the games that are ahead and with great confidence gained from our latest results. Surely we are underdogs for winning the title in comparison with the other three teams, but we were underdogs against Akademik in the quaterfinals as well, and yet we are here. Our semifinal opponent is a great team with lots of skilled individuals and they will have the strong support of the fans so we will need probably the best match of the season if we want to play the final. We have plenty of time to prepare for the match and we are motivated to make another surprise.
It is expected that we fight for the trophies in every competition we play. In the national cup finals we were very close but we lost in a one-possession game and the feeling of a missed opportunity still hurts. However looking ahead we believe that we will have a new chance that I hope we won′t miss. To make season evaluation is still too early, so we need to wait for the season end and make a final assessment."
Qendrim Biraj, player of KB Bashkimi: "The fact that we have secured the Final Four for the first time after three years as a team makes us feel good and motivated for the next challenges. Now in the Final Four we know that we will face teams with high quality but we will give the best from ourselves to get some positive results.
In these games the most important thing is that all of players have to support each others, to fight and to believe until the end in good results."
