Domestic leagues: Important win for Beroe, Academic survives in Varna

BC Beroe recorded a very important win in Bulgarian league. The Stara Zagora team visited Balkan and won 90-82 after leading for most of the time. The visitors won the first two quarter to go up by 22 points at the break. The difference stayed the same after 30 minutes and in the last period the hosts cut it. However they never had any chance as Beroe controlled the score.

Aleksandar Yanev finished with 26 points for the winners as Conner Frankamp and Adonis Filer had 14 apiece.

In the mean time BC Academic Bultex 99 defeated Cherno more 93-92 away in Varna. The Plovdiv side survived a big scare against the winless opponent and won in overtime. With a 14-4 run in the fourth quarter Cherno more took a 4-point lead but then the visitors responded. With the game tide the hosts had a chance to win it but missed the opportunity. In the overtime Academic made a 7-0 run to pull away and held on for the victory.

Daishon Knight had 23 points for the winners as Vasil Bachev added 16.

After this round Beroe is tied for second with 6 wins and 2 defeats as Academic comes fifth with 4-4 record.
