Arnis Vecvagars: We lost because of our rebounding and lack of aggressiveness in the second half

BC Barsy Atyrau lost to Academic Bultex 99 in its first game of the third trip to the Balkans. The Kazakhstan team did better than their previous meeting against the Plovdiv side but still didn′t have enough. Here is what the head coach of the team Arnis Vecvagars had to say after the match was over:

"We were really good until the break but in the third quarter we had a lot of problems with rebounding in defense and we weren′t as aggressive as we wanted to be. Those were the main reasons for our defeat. 

Our participation in the Balkan League is a very good experience for our team because in Kazakhstan we don′t have so many games against good opponents. Here the level is higher, we are playing good teams and this is really useful."

Arkadiy Mkrtychyan was the top scorer for Barsy with 12 points. After the game he said the following:

"We lost by 14 points because of our bad defense after the break when we also lost the rebounding battle under our basket and weren′t good in transition. This was our 4th game in the competition and all the players are very happy with our participation. The organization is really good."
