Semifinal 2 preview: Beroe going for another trophy, Teuta looking to make history
06-04-2019 | 10:46

The second semifinal in BIBL sees BC Beroe taking on KS Teuta. The match will start at 19:30 hrs local time in Tirana and will be broadcast LIVE on Albanian National TV and SportMedia.tv.

For Beroe this will be a third semifinal overall and a chance to reach a second final. The team won the trophy in 2017 and is hoping to lift it once again. However coach Minchev will have to do without James White who didn′t travel with the team and Nikolay Stoyanov is doubtful. However there is enough talent in the team capable of p?ssing through the semifinal. Above all is standing Conner Frankamp who is having a great season and is in a top form in recent games. Of course there are Zhelev, Yanev, Coggins, Vaklinov and Jennings who are also good enough to compensate the absence of the other. Beroe likes to shoot threes and likes to play aggressive defense which will be something the team will look to do tonight. They′ll also try to exploit some advantage under the basket but we′ll see whether they′ll be able to do it.

Teuta on the other side will try to make history be being the first Albanian team to reach the final. The Durres squad will come highly motivated to the game tonight and led by CJ Wilson and Endrit Hysenagolli will look to do some damage. There are also the experience of Genti Lasku and the energy of Nick Dixon, Kristi Gorea, Robert Shestani and Julian Hamati who could serve the team in its quest for going to the final. Zoran Vilotijevic will also have to step up under the basket as he will have to deal with Beroe′s big men inside and help to Hyseagolli both on defense and on offense. Teuta is entering this game with nobody expecting them to win as Beroe is the favorite. However that can be a plus for the Albanian side and one that can be used as an advantage. It will be also new coach Afrim Bilali′s debut in the competition and he will try to make his mark in it.

The last time those two teams meet was exactly a month ago and Teuta won at home. However Beroe will now be even hungrier for revenge but that victory will also give some more self-believe to the Durres players that can are able to make the surprise again.
