Four very interesting games Wednesday in Eurohold BIBL
Levski visit Rilski Sportist in Samokov
Four very interesting games in both groups of Eurohold Balkan league will take place Wednesday night. Three teams are still looking for their first victory in this year competition while derby in Vrsac will decide which team will stay together with Feni Industries undefeated after Round 3 in both groups.
16.30 Dinamo Bucharest – Mega Hypo Leasing
With Fersped Rabotnicki having a bye week the derby game between Dinamo Bucharest and Mega Hypo Leasing will determine which team will top the table in Group B after round 3 of Eurohold BIBL. Currently Serbian side Mega HL are leaders with 2 wins and a loss but with one game more. Away win for Mega Hypo Leasing will give them role of favorite in this group while Dinamo will try to stay perfect at home.
During the weekend Chris Reaves had a big game for Dinamo and finished with 28 points, 6 assists and 5 rebounds while another guard - Mihai Paul contributed with 18 points. That wasn’t enough for Dinamo and they had a heartbreaking loss in Brasov from another rezpresentative in Eurohold BIBL – CSU Brasov. The loss dropped Dinamo to 12-th place in Romania with only one win out of three games.
Mega Hypo Leasing found themselves in another dramatic end in the game versus Borac in Round 6 in Serbian Swisslion League. The visitors from Cacak won by two points 82-80 and stayed undefeated together with Lions and Metalac. The way all games of Mega Hypo Leasing go this year we expect another wild finish in Bucharest Wednesday afternoon.
17.15 Rilski Sportist – Levski
Rilski Sportist put an end to their 2 game losing streak in the Bulgarian League and expectedly beat CSKA at home 93-81. The 2-2 record means Rilski Sportist is now tied for 3-rd place with another 3 teams (Euroins Cherno More, Levski and Yambol), just behind the two leading teams - Lukoil Academic (4-0) and Spartak Pleven (3-1).
Ivan Lilov had a fantastic game in his best performance since he joined the team from Samokov. He hit 5 three pointers for a total of 25 points while Branko Mirkovic and Dragoslav Papic. However Rilski Sportist lost their captain and first week Eurohold BIBL action hero Aleksandar Gruev who injured his elbow and will be out of action for awhile. Point guard brought victory for his side in the opening game versus Mega with last second overtime buzzer beater 3-point shot.
Levski got 21 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists from Vasil Evtimov in the game against Euroins Cherno More but lost at home by one point. Now the players of coach Konstantin Papazov travel to Samokov to meet another bulgarian Eurohold BIBL – Rilski Sportist. Both teams already played in Bulgarian League and Levski scored season high 123 points to beat their rival by 21 points margin.
18.00 Swisslion Takovo – Euroins Cherno More
Two of three unbeaten teams in the league so far in Eurohold BIBL will face each other in Vrsac. Serbian Swisslion Takovo play versus bulgarian Euroins Cherno More. Both teams had only one game so far and were winning sides in them. The game in Vrsac will be the first of Lions in this competition in front of their own fans. The players of coach Dejan Mijatovic don’t know the taste of loss yet this season. In local league their record is 6 wins and no losses while in Eurohold BIBL they have a win in only game they played.
Euroins Cherno More is coming after huge victory over other local bulgarian rival Levski on their court. In derby match last Friday in Bulgaria they beat them by one point (90-89) and broke their losing record in local league. The visitors from Varna were in front for most of the game but never with big advantage and the turnaround from Levski was close. However thanks to the good free shooting at the end players of young coach Daniel Dimitrov grabbed important win.
Sasa Ocokoljic scored the winning 3-point shot with the buzzer sounds and Lions got 64-62 victory over Novi Sad on their court. That was win number 6 from 6 games for Swisslion in Serbia.
18.30 CSU Cuadripol Brasov – Radnicki 034 Group
The match in Brasov is very important for both teams of CSU Cuadripol and Radnicki 034 Group. They played two games in Eurohold BIBL and are still looking for first win. Winner of this game will have much better chances to get through the quarterfinals next year while the losers will have record 0-3 pushing them to the wall in opening competition of BIBL.
Both teams have better success in their local leagues so far this year. Radnicki 034 Group registered their third win in Serbia as they beat Vizura from Belgrade in Round 6 by the score 83-77. The win put them back in the middle of the table in Serbian league with 50 % record.
26 points from guard Rashaun Broadus and 22 from forward Alex Hartman were too much for the visitors of Dinamo Bucharest as CSU Cuadripol Brasov also won for third time but in Romanian championship. However their victory was by only one point – 92-91.
