Swisslion Takovo still unbeaten in Serbia

Euroleague BIBL representative Swisslion Takovo won another game in Serbian league as they beat Metalac on their court 88-85. In fantastic atmosphere in front of 2000 people in sports hall in Valjevo Lions came back from 22 points deficit to grab important victory at the top of the table. Host team started with 33-11 but visitors slowly got back and used every turnover of Metalac in the game.

After great beginning, team from Valjevo forced too many shots from outside that lower their percentage and gave chance to the visiting Lions. In the same time Jorovic, Markovic and Ocokolijc found their rhythm and were in the middle of all successful shots for the visitors. In the third quarter Lions stepped in front for the first time when the score was 59-57 in their favor.

Later Swisslion extended the lead up to 11 points but Metalac came back from their own to set up dramatic finish. Using more concentration, players of coach Dejan Mijatovic made less mistakes in last part of the game and deserved the win.

“Working in this atmosphere is the real thing for coaching job. We had very quality game with lot of good things from both teams. At the end our defense prevailed. I’m happry we got back from 22 points deficit and when we got the first lead I was sure we can win,” said the coach of Lions Mijatovic.

After this round in Serbian league Lions and Borac are the only undefeated teams with 8 victories in row while Metalac dropped to third place with 7 wins and a loss.

 
Next Wednesday Swisslion Takovo visit Feni Industries from FYR Macedonia in another game of unbeaten teams for this year but in Eurohold BIBL.
