Darko Sokolov left Feni Industries

Only a week after Feni Industries decided to cut the budget, two of their best players left the club. Both national team participants Darko Sokolov and Gjorgi Cekovski are not with the club anymore. Few days ago they met with the management of the club and agreed to leave without any obligations of both sides.

Sokolov and Cekovski came to the macedonian champion during the summer  and are in the middle of success for this team in domestic league and Eurohold BIBL. Feni Industries are current leaders in Macedonia with record of 11-2 while in their group A in Eurohold BIBL they share first place with Swisslion Takovo (4-1).

Cekovski averaged 13.0 points and 5.4 rebounds in 5 games in Balkan league while playing 26.6 per contest. Sokolov also participated in all games so far with average of 4.4 points, 2.2 assists and 1.8 steals.

Feni Industries decided to cut the budget as result of global financial crisis. That reflected on the salaries for players and other management in the club. Sokolov and Cekovski didn’t agree  with new financial terms and decided to go. They will try to find new teams as sson as possible while Feni Industries might look for some replacements.

Next game from Eurohold BIBL Feni Industries will play on January 21 when the team visit CSU Cuadripol in Brasov. Ten days later local macedonian competition will restart.
