BC Levski achieved a big win in the Bulgarian National Basketball League tonight. Titi Papazov′s side defeated the reigning champion Lukoil Academic away from home in Pravets by 15 points - 77:92. This was Levski′s 13th win this season, and also Lukoil Academic′s first loss.
 
An interesting fact is that Levski had lost the previous 11 encounters against Lukoil Academic, as they finally managed to get a win in their attempt number 12.
 
Vassil Evtimov had a tremendous game - 19 points, 16 rebounds and 3 assists in just 29 minutes on the floor. Aaron Harper also finished with 19 points, while the team′s latest addition - Jarrett Howell added 18 points, 8 assists and 3 steals coming off the bench. Dimitar Angelov finished with 12 points.
 
Levski remained on the second spot in the table with 13 wins and 3 losses, while Lukoil is on top with 15 wins and 1 loss.

Branko Cuic of BC Timisoara and Romeo Travis of BC Galil Gilboa were the players who had the best performances in the games played this week from the 2011/2012 EUROHOLD Balkan League regular season. The Serbian guard and the American forward both had an efficiency rating of 32.   Branko Cuic had 21 points, 10 rebounds, 6 assists and 2 steals in 33 minutes in BC Timisoara′s win over Rilski Sportist. He shot 3/5 for 2 points, 2/2 for 3 points and 9/11 from the free-throw line.   Romeo Travis scored 22 points, grabbed 10 rebounds and added 2 assists, 2 steals and 1 blocked shot in just 29 minutes of play in Galil Gilboa′s blowout win against KK Mornar Bar. Travis shot 9/11 for 2 points and 4/6 from the free-throw line.   The other notable performances this round are by Sime Spralja of BC Timisoara who had 22 points, 9 rebounds, 2 steals and 1 blocked shot for an efficiency rating of 25 in the win against Rilski Sportist. Also Diego Kapelan of HKK Zrinjski Mostar had 22 points, 4 rebounds and 1 steal, missing only three shots for an efficiency rating of 24 in the win over KK Ulcinj.   Joseph Jones of Galil Gilboa had a rating of 23, after he scored 20 points, along with 5 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 steals and 1 blocked shot in just 20 minutes of action against KK Mornar Bar   There is one more game form Round 7 - next week when Levski will visit Hapoel Tel Aviv on the 31st of January.

HKK Zrinjski Mostar managed to get their first win of the season in the EUROHOLD Balkan League. This happened in their visit to KK Ulcinj in Round 7 in Group A, as the Bosnian side celebrated a 69:82 win in the end of the game.
 
KK Ulcinj got off to a good start, leading 4:0 with 1.20 played, and after that 6:3, but Diego Kapelan made five straight points giving his team a 6:8 lead.The game was tied at 8:8, and after that HKK Zrinjski got ahead and didn′t let their laed slip away until the end of the first quarter. They led by 8 - 10:18 with 3.08 left, and after the end of the first period they were already up by double digits - 15:26   Luka Klarica scored a three to increase Zrinjski′s lead to 14 - 15:29, but KK Ulcinj would go on a seven-to-nothing run, getting the difference back to single digits - 22:29 with 6.37 left in the first half. The home team had their momentum running, and the difference was just 4 points - 27:31 with 5.40 left. Zrinjski scored 10 points in the next three and a half minutes against just 3 for the home team and led 30:41 with two minutes left. Halfway through the game HKK Zrinjski still had the lead - 34:41, as KK Ulcinj managed to erase four points from the difference in the second period.   The visiting side started the second half with five unanswered points - a 2-pointer by Luka Klarice and a three by Diego Kapelan, extending their lead to 12 points - 34:46. The score was 35:48 in favor of HKK Zrinjski, when KK Ulcinj took a timeout. The visitors maintained their lead, as 1.49 before the end of the quarter they were up by 15 - 44:59. After 30 minutes Zrinjski held a 12-point lead - 51:63.   Nothing changed in the first minutes of the closing quarter, as Zrinjski first increased their lead to 15 - 51:66 just a minute after the start of the fourth, and after that they maintained their advantage. Ulcinj managed to bring the gap down to under 10 points - 60:69 with around four and a half minutes to go, but Zrinjski quickly broke ahead again - 62:74 with 3.09 left. KK Napredak Rubin Krusevac showed that they are in the EUROHOLD Balkan League for a reason, as they deservedly defeated the current BIBL champion - KK Feni Industries 81:77 after a very interesting game of basketball in Hala Sportova in Krusevac.
 
The defending EUROHOLD Balkan League champion - KK Feni Industries started the game strong, after they scored the first five points - a three by Ivan Lilov and a basket by Vladimir Brchkov for 0:5 after a 1.40 have been played. Napredak′s first three baskets were all from three-point range, as they led 9:7 with 6.11 to go. Halfway through the first period the held a 13:10 lead. Feni managed to cut the deficit to one point - 15:14, but Sasa Mihajlovic completed a three-point play for 18:14. Goran Samardziev made a three - 18:17 with 1.09 to go. After 10 minutes of play the score was 22:17 in favor of KK Napredak Rubin   Kiril Nikolovski scored a basket after an assist by Goran Samardziev, and after that Samardziev made two free-throws, to decrease the difference to 22:21, which forced Napredak to take a timeout. Zlatko Gocevski tied the score at 22:22, increasing Feni′s run to 5-0. Goran Samardziev was having a good time on the court, as he scored another three, giving his team a 24:27 lead with 6.50 left in the quarter. In the next one minute and forty seconds the home team made a 7-2 run, leading 31:29 with five minutes left. There were a couple of lead changes in the following minutes as it was Feni who managed to break away - 41:43 with 1.13 to go after a basket by Frye. At halftime the score was 41:43, after Feni played a good second period, which they won 19:26.   Napredak scored seven points in the first minute and a half of the second half, against two for Feni, and led the game 48:45 with 8.22 left in the quarter. The home team extended their lead to 53:47, which forced Emil Rajkovic to take a timeout. Feni went on a 7-1 run, as they tied the score at 54:54 with 4.29 left. Aco Mandic gave his team a 59:56 lead with three minutes to go, as he mad a three-pointer.                  The Israeli Galil Gilboa almost secured the first spot in Group A of EUROHOLD Balkan League after a blow win over Mornar Bar at home - 92:67.  Galil played a solid game,  getting the lead from the first minute to the end. This game was really important  for both teams, as if Mornar managed to win it, they would outrun their opponents for the first place in the group.  Both coaches used their best possible squad’s as the only missing name was Galil’s power house Ido Kozikaro, who broke his arm in training last week. As a quality tonight’s clash was one of the best as a performance this season.
                The game started with a nice jump shot by Joseph Jones, followed by a quick answer from the Mornar’s young prospect Lazar Radosavljevic. Galil made a 5:0 series for 7:2, but Akeem Scott immediately exploded with a powerful three.  Mornar scored another three pointer – made by Radosavljevic, setting the score to 11:10 with 6 minutes remaining in the first period.  Courtney Fell gave his team a 5points lead with two nice moves – superb assist and a dunk, although that Mornar started to play a strong full-court man to man defence. 2:08 before the end of the quarter Yan Martin extend the lead of Galil to 8 points – 22:14, scoring behind the line. Ivan Jelenic opened his account for the tonight’s game with two nice placed three pointers,  followed by one successful free throw by Scott.  After 10 minutes on the court the Israeli team were up by 4 – 27:23.
                  The quests started the second quarter not in the best possible way, as Radoje Vujosevic made a offensive foul, and immeadiately another one in defence giving easy 3 points for Galil. Yan Martin scored the first three pointer  in the period, made the difference for the first time in the game in double digits – 33:23. Thethird personal foul of Vujosevic in less than 3 minutes, put Romeo Travis on the free-throw line, but the American forward managed to score only the first one.  Galil finished their next offence with a dunk by Fells, but Mirza Sarajlija made a successful fast buzzer shot from 9 meters.
