The Greek PAOK and third team from Bulgaria are close to be part of the Balkan basketball league in the first season of the international competition.
The Sports Director of the BIBL Mr. Shay Shtiks said for www.balkanleague.net: "The information that we got is that PAOK Thessaloniki probably will play in the Balkan league. About the second team from Greece, there is no decision yet."

Regarding the question about BC Strumica`s situation Mr. Shtriks commented, that the club had huge problem with the old sponsor, but they are doing the best to find a new one.
"What I understood is that on Friday they already had meeting. I spoke with the federation and they decided together with me to give them up till July 22nd a deadline. But because I see, that they are doing the best to find normal sponsor and they are honest with us and they update us all the time, I believe we should give them this chance. If not, it`s not obvious, that instead of Strumica we`ll have other team from F.Y.R. of Macedonia, because it was a wild card. So if there is going to be a new team, we have to check it", said BIBL`s Sports Director.

"Other news is that we probably are going to have third team from Bulgaria. So what is look like, that we have 3 teams from Bulgaria, 3 teams from Serbia, 3 from F.Y.R. of Macedonia, 2 teams from Romania and one team from Greece.

Regarding sponsor within the next 2 weeks we`ll close probably with the main sponsor and there are another 2-3 small sponsors and I believe up till August 10th we can announce it", added Mr. Shay Shtriks.
