Rosen Barchovski: The decision to come back in EUROHOLD Balkan League was easy

Rilski Sportist is coming back in EUROHOLD Balkan League after one year absence from the competition. This is why we spoke to the head coach Rosen Barchovski who explained why the club took decision to re-join the league:     "Last year we decided to try one challenge like EuroChallenge competition because we wanted to see where we stand. We wanted to see something new because the team had played a few years in a row in the Balkan League. After we finished we made our analysis that for new it′s better for us to be a part of this tournament for different reasons.     First - the number of the games. Six games outside Bulgaria is not a lot, while in the Balkan League there are minimum 12 and sometimes more - 14 or 16, which is much better. There is space for more players and the teams stays in playing rhythm for longer. Second - the level of the Balkan League achieved higher standarts, is offering something different and has almost no difference compared to the other tournament. We played with Romanian, Hungarian and a Belarussian team, so this also prevailed. The third thing is the successful performance of Rilski in all the years in this league which also contributed a lot. After making the balance we took the decision very easily.   The ambition of the team for EUROHOLD Balkan League are always are high and for me as the head coach as well. It depends from two things - the level of the other teams and our roster. Very often we have to make new teams but this season I hope that it will not be like that this season and we′ll manage to keep some part of the roster. Last year the situation was very difficult because we had a new team. When I see our selection and the other teams, I′ll be able to say something about goals and what is realistic. However in all cases we are aiming high. I still don′t know the system but if it′s like the old one, we′ll try to reach the Final 4 or if it′s new we will be looking for a place in the Top 4."
