Shay Shtriks: You′ll enjoy the Top 8 in BIBL!

The First Stage in SIGAL-UNIQA Balkan League finished a few days ago after the Qualification Round for Top 8. Now we know the best eight teams in the competitino who advance to the next round and will continue to fight to become champions. Here is what Mr. Shay Shtriks - Sports Director had to say after the first half of the current campaign and what to expect from the second: 

"The first round of season 2015-2016 and the Qualification Tournament are already behind us and the Second stage - Top 8 starts next week. 

Before speaking about the top 8, I would like to say big thank you to all the clubs that participated in the First Stage. There were some games with big difference and some results that we are not used to for the last few years, but the reason is that we have this season 3 teams with young local players - BC Levski 2014, BC Beroe and KK Lovcen Basket. 

Nevertheless, those young players did their best and fought for the place on the court in every single game. They are the future of the basketball in their own countries. They possess the potential to develop and to become soon the leaders of the region and this has always been one of the targets the Balkan League was created for and why it exists. This is why we accept and respect the teams with the young local players and we will continue doing the same also in the following seasons to come. 

The program of Top 8 is ready and sent to all the clubs. We expect to have a lot of strong and good basketball games. Top 8 will be very interesting, very competitive and I am sure that all the basketball fans and supporters are going to enjoy great moments from their favorites. 

There will be a few derby games which I do believe everybody is going to eagerly expect and then enjoy. We will have great games between all the clubs and I know that in the next 3 months all of you who want to see pure strong Balkan basketball, will have fun.

Definitely the level of the basketball and the intensity of the games will be increased and I can promise you that SIGAL-UNIQA Balkan League will provide great show time.

I would like to wish all the clubs, players, managements and coaching staffs good games and good luck. To the commissioners and referees that will officiate the games - good and correct officiating and in the end of this stage the best 4 teams to reach the Semi Finals. 

Now, let the games begin!"
