Asen Nikolov: We dominated almost the whole game

Akademik Bultex 99 won against Ibar at home to get its third victory of the season. Here is what the head coach Asen Nikolov had to say after the match was over: 

"The players went it to the game with enough responsibility and motivation. I think we dominated the whole game except for the final minutes of the third period when we relaxed too much. 

It was nice to play in the big gym. There was a nice atmosphere, the team did well, we won so everything was ok. 

With that victory our chances for the playoffs are really big now. However for sure we need to look for at least two more wins - in the visit of SK Tirana and the home game against Bashkimi in order to make everything more secure for us and when we play the top teams in the last three games, to know our standings before. 

We′ll approach the game in Tirana the same way. I can see that the players are really responsible, they know when they have to give the extra effort so I′m sure that we′ll approach the game in Tirana in the most serious way in order to win it."

The center Nikola Maravic dominated and finished with 24 points and 13 rebounds. Here are his comments after the match was over:

"We had control of the game for 90% of it. However after a small letdown in the third quarter we again managed to increase the difference and win. Both teams were tired, as we played our sixth game in 18 days. Yes, I managed to acclimate myself quick enough because the other guys are great and also the coach understood what I can do so I can play my game. It will be a hard match in Tirana but if we play our game we can win there."
